You may already have heard about this citizen science initiative, which you can join if you have a smartphone...

There are clearly significant gaps at the moment in understanding about how the C-19 virus develops, transmits and behaves.  This initiative enables us to play a vital role by reporting our daily symptoms – even when we are well - and thereby assisting doctors and scientists at Kings College in developing their knowledge base.

An app, called Covid-19 Symptom Tracker, has been designed by doctors and scientists at King’s College London (KCL) and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, and can be downloaded on both Apple and Android phones. We are being urged to download the free app and take less than a minute each day to self-report how we are feeling – even if we are feeling well. The app is already providing essential insights into the symptoms and spread of the virus.

I was able to download this free app onto my android phone from Google play (you’ll also find a version for Apple Iphones at the App Store).    You’ll need to provide a few details about age and health when you first use it.
