VILLAGE DRAMA

There are several opportunities during the year to participate in productions, although there is not a formal drama group meeting regularly.

There is a pool of about 22 actors ranging from those who are happy to learn and play a full role to those who just want to read or take part in a short sketch.

Productions have included:
  • Two by Jim Cartwright
  • Remembrance, a devised presentation in November 2014
  • Supper evening entertainments on the themes of Greece, Musicals, Jazz, the 1960s
  • Christmas entertainments: St. George and the Dragon and Nativity
  • An outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream

Our production of 'Remembrance' on 11 November was a sell-out.

We had some very appreciative feedback both about the show and the fish and chip supper!

There was also a very enthusiastic review in The Chalk Stream.

Thanks to all of you who supported us.

Our next production is on 6 April in the Village Hall.

There will matinee and evening performances.

The first act is 'Moments in Life' by David Hampshire - seven short plays about people at various stages in life. Most are very funny, with a twist in the tail. One or two are sad and reflective. The second act is a group devised musical.

Rehearsals are underway, but it’s not too late to get involved, especially backstage.

‛Moments in Life’ by David Hampshire is seven short plays about people at various stages in life, in ‛sunshine and showers’.
Full of laughs - with a twist in the tail.
The second act is a ‛moment’ for an amateur dramatic society.
The members are determined to do a musical - whatever the director’s opposition and their own limitations!
